Lights Out ( x_X ) was originally formed as a quakelive team deathmatch/clan arena team ( clan9 ) in mid 2008 by gibz upon the departure of clan Energy which was put to rest due to inactivity.  During this time gibz joined a quakelive capture the flag team ( ready up ) and saw potential in merging the two teams.  In late 2008/early 2009 the two teams merged to create paramount gaming. 

After a few months gibz was approached by superior gaming about quakecon sponsorship as well as other perks and he quickly jumped on board in hopes of a free ride for his team to quakecon 2009.  Things seemed to go downhill behind the scenes with an inexperienced owner at superior gaming and several conflicts arrose between multiple divisions and the owner.  After a few months with no contracts in sight and several problems with the superior gaming owner/manager gibz, the quakelive division and the css division left to form Lights Out.  Soon after they were joined by former superior gaming fifa division.

Currently Lights Out is competing in Quakelive ( team deathmatch, capture the flag and clan arena ), Counter-Strike:Source, Fifa 09 and Street Fighter 4 with more divisions to be announced soon.
